World-class chess training using renowned Grandmaster Maurice Ashley's revolutionary teaching method. Campers will learn from the Grandmaster as well as from coaches who have been trained in his techniques.
This year's theme is "Championship Chess." GM Ashley will be doing commentary for the U.S. Championships in May. The World Championships will be held this spring as well. Both of these events are sure to bring us some amazing chess games. BY looking at the performance of some of the world's best players, we will study what makes a person a champion in chess and in life. In the afternoons, students will play some champonship chess of their own as they participate in our fun and challenging tournament training program.
MATCH is partnering with Urban Rennisance Development Corporation, the Knights of Valor Chess Club, and Huber Memorial Church for the 2010 camp. The camp is being held at Huber Memorial Church in Baltimore, Maryland. For more information about our partners click on their logos on the right.

| My son is a "chess-aholic". Chess camp with a grand master and fellow chess fanatics was perfect for him. He couldn't wait to come back this year to show his teachers what he learned throughout the year between camps, to his two younger sisters, chess camp was not nearly as appealing. However, my wife and I "encouraged" them to go anyway. After the first day they were hooked! By the end of the week, chess camp was all they could talk about, "We saw a movie in 3-D... we rock climbed... we went to a film studio and, oh yeah, we learned a lot about chess". They all can't wait to go next summer. What more could a parent ask for? |
